Suspension update for 2011
2010 was a year of learning for us. The turbo charged setup is awesome but it does have way more gadgets than the all-motor carb'd setup that was previously in the car. We had a lot of help from Jim Monson and Reed Patridge to make the transition as smooth as possible, but the one area where it did not seem to matter what we did was the 60ft. The best 60ft we could muster was a sluggish 1.388. This occured one time, and for the most part it was a consistent 1.40 car. If this were a mid 10 second car still that would have been acceptable, but with ET's already near the mid 8's on just 14 psi, we should be much quicker than that. With the coming season approaching and the need to apply more power to be competive we had to figure out what the problem was. This called for a trip to see Bill Gilsbach at Gilsbach Racecraft. After taking the car to Bill for a chassis analysis, it was quickly determined that the rear suspension that was currently in the car had to go. We also talked about adding ballast to the car to be sure we can meet class minimum weight requirements.
With that being said, the following changes were made:
1. Strange double adjustable shocks
2. Double adjustable offset lower control arms
3. Weight tabs added in several locations throughout the chassis
